Transatel, the European mobile operator specialised in roaming, implements the tariffs that the European regulation imposes on operators for September 2008. On September 1st all Transatel subscribers will be able to make calls within the 27 countries of the European Union for €0.46 per minute excluding VAT and to receive calls for €0.24 per minute excluding VAT.  Transatel is one year ahead of the European regulation 2007 which sets limits on roaming prices. Eurotariff 2007 imposes a maximum price of €0.49 per minute excluding VAT for calls made abroad and €0.24 per minute excluding VAT for calls received abroad. This will reinforce the advantages of Transatel‘s multi-country offer dedicated to frequent travellers and frontier inhabitants in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. This solution allows its subscribers to save up to 80% on their calls in the 4 countries. Jacques Bonifay, Transatel CEO, explains that with these new tariffs Transatel remains the most competitive European operator for the people who are regularly moving between different countries within the European Union. Transatel experienced a strong growth in the last 5 years and expects that a large number of roaming users will switch to Transatel within the next months.  About Transatel Transatel launched in January 2002 its MVNO dedicated to frequent travellers and frontier inhabitants in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Transatel offer allows users to call between these countries for prices up to 80% cheaper than the Eurotariff and offers special services such as voicemail on the Internet, multi-country GPRS and the M-fax (receiving fax by email). Transatel will launch its service in Germany before the end of the year and expects to double its activity in Europe in the upcoming 18 months. For more information, visit www.transatel.com |
